I think I have no chance of editing Sunfish the way I want it in Premiere 5.1c; too primitive.

Looking back at this, half of the troubles I had with trying to edit Sunfish on a dual Pentium III machine were caused by the MPEG clips being encoded improperly, which is why they lagged heavily in Premiere 5.1c. Now that I know you're supposed to define bitrate limits in FFmpeg, I wonder if this would've turned out completely differently had I known this back then.
