The two computers previously displayed go head to head against each other in a GLQuake deathmatch, using the TCP/IP protocol.

This is not to be confused with QuakeWorld. The normal Quake, WinQuake, and GLQuake executables are perfectly suited for LAN matches, but on the internet, they are reportedly not well optimized for the task, even on broadband. That's why QuakeWorld was created.

Also could the fact that those Quake executables are not suitable for Internet matches be due to their UDP packet processor not having good tolerant for bad data or something? I have no idea about their internals...
